Abstract authors are encouraged to coordinate a batch of 5-6 abstracts under the
title of a particular 'theme(s)', 'organization' or 'country'. If adopted, the batch will form
a symposium.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

SAHK is committed to distributing worldwide the Congress abstracts to CE practitioners and other interested parties. The compiled abstracts in book form will be given out at the Congress, and will be posted on-line after the Congress. This requires that all abstracts submitted for publication must meet a minimum standard for both print and electronic publishing.

The submissions should contain original and as yet unpublished work. Abstracts should be submitted by e-mail in MS Word format and should conform to the specifications as outlined in the formating instructions.

1. E-mail Submission
-
Attach the MS Word file of the abstract (in either English or Chinese) with the standardized format.

Choose 1 among the 12 established themes (suggestions for other 'areas' are welcome). The chosen theme should be specified in the e-mail message.

Specify the preferred mode of presentation (oral or poster) in the e-mail message.
-
State the e-mail subject as: "Abstract Submission".

E-mail the message with the attached MSWord file to the congress secretariat: International Conference Consultants Ltd at: .

N.B. Final decision of the allocation of the abstracts to the relevant ‘themes’ and the mode of presentation will be made by the Scientific and Programme Committee.

2. Formating Instructions

The Congress will publish an abstract book that will be distributed to each participant at the Congress and will be posted on-line after the Congress.

To facilitate our editorial work, all MS Word files MUST be submitted in a standardized layout format and the following typesetting specifications must be STRICTLY OBSERVED:

Paper Size: set paper size at 210 x 297mm (A4) as the word processing background.

Margins: set 25 mm margins at the top and bottom, 30 mm on the left side; and 20 mm on the right side.

Page Layout: Left and right justified.
-
Line spacing: 1.5 line throughout the entire paper.
-
Fonts: Use Times New Roman.
- Title: Centre the title (14-point bold, capital letters) and leave one blank line (12 point) after the title.
- Author(s): Names, affiliations and addresses plus email address of the corresponding authors (12-point regular) with the name of the presenter underlined. Leave two blank lines (12-point) between the e-mail address and the beginning of the paper.
- Body Text: Use Times New Roman (12 point regular) throughout. Start a new paragraph by indenting it from the left margin by 0.5 cm (and not by inserting a blank line).

Word and Page Count: the entire abstract (including references) should NOT exceed 600 words and occupy NOT more than 2 pages.

No illustrations or photographs will be accepted in the abstract.

3. Submission Kits and Important Deadlines

Abstracts must be received by the congress secretariat no later than 30 Apr 2010.

Authors of the accepted abstract ( both oral and poster presentations ) are expected to register for the Congress and present their work in the allocated 'theme' session of the Congress. If an author fails to register for the Congress on or before 30 Sep 2010, the accepted abstract will not be included in the abstracts publication.

Submitted abstracts will be immediately be processed by the congress secretariat and forwarded to the Scientific and Programme Committee for reviewing. The acceptance notification will be announced by e-mail to the first author as early as possible.

All reviewing work will be completed by Jun 2010. The acceptance or rejection notification of all submitted abstracts will be announced to the first author by e-mail no later than 30 Jun 2010.
4. Presentations of the accepted abstracts

Oral Presentation
- Authors of abstracts accepted for oral presentation will be given 15 minutes for presentation ( preferably using Powerpoint ) along with a joint 15 minute discussion at the end of the allocated 'theme' session. It is imperative that the time limit be strictly observed by all presenting authors.

Poster Presentation
- Authors of abstracts accepted for poster presentation will be provided with a panel for mounting their descriptive material. Details of panel size and layout will be provided at the time of acceptance. Presenting authors must be at their panel during the scheduled poster session listed in the final programme and adhere to the instructions as given in the acceptance notification.
